Santa Cruz Restaurant Week returns for its seventh year

Celebrating Culinary Excellence in Santa Cruz County

Santa Cruz, CA – September 18, 2015: Good Times is pleased to announce Santa Cruz Restaurant Week – the tastiest week of the year! Over the past six years, the community’s response to Santa Cruz Restaurant Week has grown considerably and the event has continued to gain enthusiasm and momentum.

Santa Cruz Restaurant Week spans eight nights from October 14-21, 2015 and is modeled after the highly popular Restaurant Weeks that happen across the nation.

In 2014, a second tier of pricing was offered for the first time, with each participating restaurant presenting either a $25 or $35 menu option. This proved to be successful and will continue in 2015. Nearly one-third—14—of the 37 participating restaurants in 2014 chose the $35 price point.

The Restaurant Week concept is simple: Fine dining restaurants throughout Santa Cruz County offer guests a three-course, fixed-price dinner menu for either $25 or $35 (not including tax, gratuity or beverages). Menus include three options each for appetizer, entrée and dessert. Each restaurant will promote only one price point. (Regular menus are available, also.)

This event shines a spotlight on the local food culture in Santa Cruz County while restaurateurs and chefs showcase their individuality and creative talents. This event is an opportunity for the restaurant community to promote as a group, for diners to try a new restaurant for the first time, or for guests to try new dishes at a favorite restaurant.

A list of participating restaurants and their featured menus are continually updated on www.santacruzrestaurantweek.com, and will be complete on October 1. A Santa Cruz Restaurant Week Guide including a full list of menus will also be published in Good Times on October 14.

The events in 2009 – 2014 brought many first-time customers to local restaurants and drew attention to our county’s culinary excellence.

Visitors to the site can also view restaurant bios, sign up for email alerts, make reservations via Open Table with participating restaurants, LIKE Santa Cruz Restaurant Week on Facebook, and follow the event on Twitter. Giveaways for gift certificates to participating restaurants are held several times a week on Santa Cruz Restaurant Week’s Facebook page.
